Pro:- This book was all kinds of fun and it had me laughing out loud several times.- Both MCs were very likable and funny. I especially liked Dan's direct/blunt and dominant manner--it was a good contrast to Ceasare. Both MCs had chemistry. They are great together.- The mystery part was very well done. It was engrossing and there were quite a handful of possible suspects so that I didn't know for sure who was the bad guy til the very end.- The story is plot-driven instead of sex-driven. Yes, there's sex, but not overly much so.- The developing romance wasn't at all sugary or sickly sweet--definitely a plus in my book.Contra:- At the end of the book there are some transphobic remarks. IMO, it wasn't dominating the story. In fact, I didn't think there was anything disrespecting or hurtful against transgender people except for the last pages of the book. There was mainly one remark really bothered me:“Pretending to be a girl was even smarter,” [name removed due to spoiler] added.“She fooled me. Shit she fooled everyone.” I never questioned [name removed due to spoiler], even when I knew the truth about her…condition. Dr. Bronner had certainly earned his five thousand dollars.I can't see how someone living, feeling and identifying as a women, someone who even did go through surgery because of that, is supposed to be "pretending to be a girl"--no matter how much of a bitch that person might be. If she identifies and lives as a woman, than she is one. It's as simple as that.If it wasn't for the remark mentioned above, this book would definitely get 5 stars--beause I really really enjoyed this book. It was hilarious. But I can't do that with a clear conscience, because the contra part bothered me quite a bit. It's really a shame--the book was just soo good in all the other respects. So, everything considered, it's just 4 stars.
