Astolat was one of the first fanfic authors I stumbled across back in the day -- and she's still one of my favourites. Because, really, she is extremely talented and has a way with words that one can only envy.

And this particular series was no disappointment... au contraire. Astolat took the original world of BBC's Merlin and transformed it into this beautiful, (very) slightly AU story (that is, quite frankly, way better than the original while never straying too far from canon).
