DNF after 49%. Absolutely sugary-fluffy sweet and bordering on painfully boring. The MCs' voices don't help matters either. The narrative style is dull--and something about it feels off. I've read fanfics that were better told than this book. And that's not only because there's no story arc/arc of suspense worth mentioning, so far at least. Usually, I like 1st person-narrative. But here we deal with 2 first-person narrators and whenever the POV is switching we get to read a full recount or recap on the former events, though this time from the other MC's perspective. Which wouldn't actually be that bad, if the authors managed to create 3-dimendional, interesting characters with depth. Well, they didn't. It could be fun to "relive" a moment from the other MC's view. Particularly form another viewpoint that is supposed to be oh so very different from the former one. One the one hand, there's Rue a flamboyant twink and bartender of some club who recently and unexpectedly became a dad, on the other hand there's the people-shy Eric, a loner with some compulsive and neurotic tendencies. But this neurotic disorder, e.g., is unbelievable and shallow at best. It's just thrown in there, for good measure, so that it seems like we deal with interesting, unique characters here, but I will not, for just a second, believe that there was done any research on that topic. And this is just one example. As mentioned before, we actually are in the very lucky postion to read a summary of the former events every couple of pages or so due to the frequent POV-switching. Which comes especially in handy if you suffer from some kind of memory loss. Very thoughtful, that. If you don't belong to the aforementioned unfortunate group this will get tedious very fast.In my humble opinion, this only gives the book an amateurish touch.A disappointment, all in all.
